Doing video production/editing for the Gaither vocal band and other southern gospel groups, and working with the BBC on nature specials.

I'd be a drag racing photographer if I could. A friend of mine actually is a drag racing photographer, and he got me media passes to a few smaller events. It was nice being able to play into that fantasy, but it was back to work on Monday.

I love going in there just to look at the images.

Probably fashion magazines, but my actual goal is weddings

Me, too, for the variety. I had a similar job with an 18-state conglomerate & loved it. Especially because it was before the cell phone, & the office couldn't reach me. ; )

i've thought about this and decided the ISS isn't likley to happen, i'll scale mine down to shooting anything where it's warm and sunny

I work for a major aerospace company and back before digital they had a whole dept of photographers to document various tests, that ranged from high speed video of jet engine tests to still images of more mundane tests. Now they're down to just one guy but he's been there forever and I recently got to chat him up a little. It's not NASA, but it's as close as I'll get (well, maybe).

He almost always uses film. His shots have to be right the first time because often times the event that needs to be captured is a one time deal that'll be over in a split second. To redo the test would cost hundreds or millions of dollars.

I've seen one test where he had to put several slrs into a small shack where there's a big kerosene torch heating up a test unit. Temperatures in the shack were high enough to make most people here squirm knowing their cameras are mere feet away from the flame. This was one of those tests where experience comes in handy because you have to set exposure settings without knowing how bright the flame is going to be.

Anyway, I think that would be a cool job, but it's very much a niche job in a niche industry. It's one of those positions where you'd have to wait until the guy retires to get in.

Call me weird and I'm not sure why but wartime if I was a young man. Adrenaline rush and you show people the horror of what goes on hopefully slowing it down. A fantasy as it does not seem to work all that well these days.
