I thought it might have something to do with that. So far, I've been around 50 feet max, so I've been able to use it.

What's your preferred method of syncing? I put both tracks on headphones and adjust them until there is no difference between the two. I've never been taught how to do it, necessarily; someone on YT kinda got me started by showing me the 'Clap hands, audio spike' method, but I can't exactly stop live music and go "Wait, stop! Gotta clap my hands!":lol:

Much more editing, and I might be able to read lips; I've done four hours of production (real time) and produced a DVD from the first two. Need to get the last two onto DVD.
The first DVD of the (Live) show seemed amazing to me at first, but the more I watched it, the more I realized how shaky it was. The Christmas show is a different story... I took a 'Zero Shake' policy. Some still made it in, due to me editing on a small screen... Any shake is more than I like, but no one but an expert or I would notice.

Yeah, you wouldn't believe what a difference the smallest fractions of time make when syncing!

And I also can't believe how much faster light travels than sound! I guess that's why some people look bright until they start talking!

Do yourself a favor a buy PluralEyes 3. It is the quickest and easiest solution to syncing audio.

Aiming and wind noise might preclude doing so, laving the three key players is the real solution.

How do you hide the transmitter and lav on the bride? Get a white cord and windscreen for the mic? But then that transmitter...

Thanks, I'll look at it.

I wonder if the video editors on The Titanic ever went, "Sorry, I can't right now. I'm busy synching the Titanic..."

It depends on your lavi mics. The Zoom H1 doesn't support phantom power. If the lavi mics need a lot of power the H1 won't be useful. The only way is to go wireless but that will put you way out of budget.

I used to use the dirt cheap Audio Technica AT3350 plugged straight into the H1 before I got my Rode lav and Pinmic. The AT is only $17. and doesn't need phantom power. Wireless has it's own set of issues. Not being able to monitor your audio and recorder is another issue but it's a heck of a lot cheaper than a few sets of Sennheiser G3s.

That is an art in itself. The Stillmotion folks mic the bride at all their weddings. They tape a very small mic using Rycote undercovers to the bride in her cleavage! Now personally, I'd never get that intrusive with a bride, but their clients pretty much know what they're going to get when SM films their weddings. They run the cord down the inside of the dress and have a very small digital recorder strapped to the bride's leg.

If the dress is very ornate, you could possibly hide a Rode Pinmic with a white cover somewhere on the dress and probably not get it noticed. If it were me, I'd get a good quality lav like the Rode Pinmic and mic the groom. It should be able to get both the bride and groom's audio if they're reasonably close to each other. If it's a windy day, the included furry windscreen will help kill the wind noise. The Rode has a much hotter output than the Audio Technica and sounds a LOT better.

Pluraleyes 3 at the moment seems to be for MAC only.
2.0 for Win / MAC
