First basketball game, C&C wlecome.

One done uploaded, more to come. I'm a senior in my high school and shoot all of the photos for the school newspaper. This was my first basketball game and will be shooting more so so if you have any tips I would enjoy some help. Lighting was not the best so I'll be rigging up both of my 430exii's for better lighting next time!

nice action shot, focus looks great

You have a nice array of gear. That's a nice capture.

Suggestions: 1) look at all the posts of DC Fan
2) on dark faces, add a bit more lighting in PP to see better face detail
3) your positioning and timing seem fine, but try using burst mode to see if you get more "keepers"

I think you did a good job. You should bring your shutter up to 1/640, and you were using your 70-200 , use it at f/2.8, it will give you a little more isolation and blurr background. Also try some shots under the basket to the right, as they are coming to you.

Its just a tad bit too soft my my likings wide open and the lighting in the gyn is the best either. I'll for sure be under the basket next game though!
