Read about it and thought it was interesting. Basically it is just stitching lots of pics together to exaggerate a shallow depth of field using wide apertures. Another byproduct it seems is noise is less pronounced since the final image is so large (60MP +). Here is a quick test with my dog inside using a 50 1.4 @1.4 on a 1DIV (ISO 3200). It isn't a great example so I'm interested in others posting their examples too. Seems to be quite popular with the wedding photographers.

Now I need to get my wife out so I can test this some more :)

Do you have a longer fast prime? i have seen that it work s a bit better with a longer prime. I tried it with my 50 1.4 and it looked as it was supposed to but just wasn't thrilled with it. Although i have seen many done with an 85 and those blew me away.

This one works though! the tough thing was probably making sure the dog didnt move toooo much. haha

To get the maximum effect you stitch shallow DOF photos from fast tele lenses to create a wider shot. Using a wider lens and shooting further back means you DOF isnt as shallow and thus the effect is negated. Try getting closer to your subject and then stitching.
