Greetings,

I need help picking a lens. I shoot random events; from people to art, to fashion and kids. I love prime lenses, I own a 50 and 85 (non L) but at time I need tighter or wider and I don’t have the option to move back and forth because I’m in a tight space. Also, I sometimes don’t have time to switch prime lenses. So what would give me the best quality?

Probably the 24-70 wide open is slightly sharper than the 24-105. That being said you can stop it down to f/4 and walk all over the 24-105 at the same aperture.

If your body has micro adjustment you could optimize either..

What do you shoot with?

Some bodies. Some primes. Some zooms. Same as everyone else.

Hmm

My first 24-105 was ok, my first 24-70 was sharp, my second 24-105 was very sharp and my second 24-70 seems not too bad, for all ive used it. Seems to be a mixed bag for me.
