I have a friend that wants to install Nik PS plugins on a computer that is not connected to the internet.

If I downloaded the programs and burned them on a CD, would they install on his PC?

Thanks!

It might work for the trial period. There is no harm in trying but at some point you have to make this legal by paying and registering the version. I hope this isn't an attempt to bypass the legal requirements by getting an activation code. I do believe that they work fine in the first 15 days but after that they might put a watermarking across the image. I know that it was either Nik or OnOne that was doing this at one point.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

No intention of download something and not paying for it!!!!!

But, I don't want to pay for it, download it and find out that he can't install it.

That's the point of the question. I have Nik and I believe I registered it on their web site.

The files themselves mean nothing, they are all demos and will work for him, its the registration code that he will need to purchase and use that means everything.

Once he purchases his OWN code, it will work, he doesn't need to be connected to the internet.

If you are not connected to the internet you can activate the software over the phone apparently.

"Do I need to be connected to the Internet in order to activate Color Efex Pro 4?

No, while an Internet connection simplifies the activation process, it is not a requirement. Activation can also be done over the phone.

When you run Color Efex Pro 4 for the first time, you will have an option to activate online or by phone. If you would like to activate Color Efex Pro 4 by phone, click on the “Activate by Phone” section and enter in your name and product key. Call customer service at 1-888-284-4085 (+1-619-725-3150 outside the U.S.). The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 8:30am to 5:00pm PST.

The customer service representative will ask for your Installation ID that is displayed and your product key. The customer service representative will then give you an activation code to be typed in. After typing in the activation code, click the 'Activate' button to finish the process. Color Efex Pro 4 will then be activated."
