This is one of my 5 kidos. She is smack in the middle. I was testing out my new 50mm 1.8 and trying my hand at B&W.

Please Critique

It would be nice to see it in color.

I suggest you take the reds down in channel mixer to avoid the total whiteout
she looks quite lovely and does not need to have her features hidden with the total whiteness

you can go quite drastically down in the reds and push the blue and the green up until they start to burn, only then take the red up to compensate

this is a very good newbie result!

She's a keeper. Nice to have such beautiful models and so cheap! Your picture is wonderful. What would happen if you pushed the contrast a bit?

Okay, here is another stab at it. I have been using Photoshop Elements 2 and now have jumped all the way to CS2---Talk about a steeeeeep learning curve. It will be awhile until I am comfortable with it.

Anyway...If anyone else wants to take a crack at it, The original is there too.

The second one does look better, more of a fan of the b&w than the color. Good job.

I like the real tight crop and the color version personally. The b/w looks a little flat and highlights are blown out some especially her right cheek.

Very cute girl for sure and don't let my comments take away from her!!!

I actually like the first one best, I think the blown out highlights add to the overall image, great photo.

Just a quick conversion.
I forgot to add a bit of sharpening to the eyes, but on a small image its not too important.
Hope you like it.......

I like the first one.. she is quite a beautiful young lady with eyes that say so much...The color shot is also very lovely...the subtle colors are wonderful in her skin and especially the way her lips are set off.. Garbitz usually has some good ideas on this B&W thing, and I think he may have something worth trying, But...the photo looks fine impact wise..nice work, nice posting...keep 'em comming!

The "eyes" have it !

sorry about overdoing the noise reduction but there were so many artifacts and the hour was late...
