For traveling I searching a way to charge my batteries for the 5D3. Is there a USB cable for the charger that I can connect to the Duracell portable USB charger ?

I'm searching now for a few hours with no real results

Thank you for you help.

Sorry this is not what i'm searching for. I want to charge the battery while the charger is in my backpack. I have a Potable power pack from Duracell that I can use for charging battery's. Where I have no power outlet. ;-)a

Why not just get another LP-E6? Seems kinda ass backwards to use a battery pack to charge a battery pack when you can just get another battery pack and charge it at home.

Already have enough Canon batteries. No need for new ones. Only searching for an extra option to charge when I on the go. This why I was thinking of an cable with a USB connection for the Canon charger or a charger that has a USB option.

When traveling there is not always an option to charge the battery. So I'm searching for a mobile way to do this. The Duracell battery pack is always in my back when the phone is out off power. Just a extra safety net ;-)a

So no need to advise extra batteries or charger ;-)a

I could be wrong here but I believe a USB socket provides a voltage of 5 volts nominal at around 100 milliamps. Therefore you will need a charger that will step UP the voltage to around 8 volts and interface with the battery. Even if such a thing is made it will take forever to charge your Camera battery at around 60 milliamps. I believe the LPE6 is around 1700mah capacity so 1700/60 = 28.3 hours assuming 100% efficiency and no internal resistance in the battery (both of which are imposible in 2012).
The best option I can come up with is a power inverter which you can plug into a car cigar lighter and then plug your standard Canon charger into it.
Something like this : http://www.ebay.co.uk …_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 (external link)

Sorry the link you posted is for us for in the car. For in the car I all ready have a Canon charger.

I'm searching for the option to charge the battery from the Duracell power supply. Same way as I charge my phone etc.

At this moment I'm looking at this option

Well, like he said, your Duracell power supply has a 5V, tops, rating; you need something that pumps out at least 7.2V to recharge your LP-E6. Either carry enough batteries to get you through until you next reach a sufficiently-large power supply to recharge them (be it car, boat, plane or AC outlet) or find something that can pump out at least 7.2V and you can carry with you.

Holy threadbump, Batman!

Sorry to resurrect a pretty old thread, and more so if this type of thing has been dealt with since, but I got here from Google, so I figured others might too; and as it's PotN, sharing is a must.

Anyway, to the point...

I'm going away for a while shortly, and while I'll have access to mains power, it'll be sporadic, and opportunities to charge a fully discharged LP-E6 will be few and far between.

So, I've just ordered a 30,000mAh USB battery pack (primarily to top-up a tablet) from fleabay for all of £16. It crossed my mind that this might also help with my camera-juice conundrum. After a bit of stumbling around, I tripped over this:

Amazon - Ex-Pro LP-E6 USB Charger (external link)

...It claims to be able to recharge an LP-E6 from anything which will push 600mA or more into a USB port. There's an option to buy with a 1A Mains->USB transformer with it; the power pack I've bought has 1A and 2.1A USB outputs, so I guess the 1A socket will be ideal (and will allow me to charge camera battery and tablet simultaneously!).

So, for £23 ($35US), it should be possible to charge an LP-E6 up to 16 times without having to be anywhere near an AC outlet or lighter socket. [If it'll do 8 times, and it all falls apart after 3 uses, I'll figure I've had my money's worth]

Anyway, apologies again for the bump, particularly if it's useless. Posted just in case it's not.

All the best,

Rob.

Second and last bump, I promise!

Power pack and LP-E6 USB charger both turned up today; the former arrived with some juice in it, so I figured I'd give it a go. It seems to be quite happy to charge a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (which I use (as well as a phone) for DSLR Remote) and an LP-E6 for my 5D simultaneously.

The ExPro LP-E6 USB gadget is compact and light, but seems put together well enough. It steps-up its 5V input to 8.2V (+/- 5%) at 400ma; if charging time is reasonable, it'll (with a suitable mains adapter) replace the Canon charger which lives in my bag for emergencies.
