. The focus distance was at just about the minimum thus maximizing the magnification 
. I once tried an online tool that uses the extension tubes as part of the calculation but it didn't seem to be working correctly. It kept calc'ing less than 1:1 when I 'm pretty sure it should have been 2x or 3x or more... Anybody know of one that works? How about an iPhone App?
