I'm an Epson snob, having several machines from them that have never ever had anything close to mention of a clog, paper jam, or other horror story... but after 6 years of countless print work that I've put my good ol' R2400 through, it's starting to work rather awful on numerous accounts at once.
Rather trying to fix it and put up with it's outdatedness, ugly ink consumption, and 13" limit, I'm considering getting a 4900 as a New Years gift for myself.
I don't see any downside to this, being that a high-end Epson printer and some nice paper stock are usually a big green mark in anyone's book, but I'd still like to know the opinion of POTNers that have this monster or have had experience with one... and yes, I do have the desk space for it.
I did read some reviews and one downside does include no borderless printing on cut media, but it seems like a minor point to me, all my printed photos have fields anyway.
Can't wait to try it with some of those Epson signature papers, and then my favorite Canson Infinities.
