Hi All

I have found myself running out of HDD space (currently planning a significant cloning and new drives installation) I found using NoClone that I had while setting up my 'way' of sorting my images managed to duplicate many GBs of files.

I have deleted a lot but having looked at the 'way' I use, I have realised I need a program purely for cataloguing.

(Note - I already use Bridge and PSCS2 for examining and PPing; Archive Creator for burning DVDs. Also, I have SyncBackSE as part of my planned backup strategy ~ when I have gotten the HDD situation sorted.)

Right, the one key feature I will need immediately in any cataloguing program is a duplicate file identifier. In other words (by choice) when I get it to scan/1st sort my images I want list (highlighted ?) showing me the dups so that I can selectively delete them.

Once catalogued (restructured) I can then copy the revised structure to an external drive and using SyncBack ensure that changed files (added and/or PPed etc) are backed up & where deleted from the main data drive they will be removed from the backup.

Of the many cataloguing programs available is there one that does what I need plus the expected catalogue type functions that is compatible with the way Bridge works? But what I perceive as *not* being required is editing functions.

I would very much welcome some feedback as to the best choice(s) and hope it will be less than $100 cost (or UK equivalent).

TIA :)

PS Apologies if this is the wrong forum but it was the closeset to the sort of question I ask.:o

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p
