But it doesn't look professional. Plus it is too small for what I'm looking for. The better bounce card studio pro is perfect for what I need and am making myself. Mine is 12x14, Looks way more professional I don't need something that bends and contorts. Once you do that, it gets all wrinkly..no smooth corners, smooth front and back, etc...and way too small.

Yes it is. have you ever seen the black foamy thingy that Neil uses? It is all wrinkled and all kinds of shapes it looks like it was bent into, not professional looking at all. In my opinion, you need to look professional and so should your equipment. Neil is a big supporter of the spinlight360 system but hardly uses it at all. It has been nearly 1 year since that thing came out and still no videos of it in actual use except for Neil shooting a little in an all white room which is not real world conditions..

Oh well, Neil is a pet peeve with me.

I wouldnt be to hard on Neil. He is a hell of a nice guy and an excellent photographer. I learned a ton from his site. Couple people i know have met him and worked with him. The man has his krapola together.

yes it does...go to www.abetterbouncecard.com (external link) and look at their shape and everything...then look at the flash bender..sharp corners, wrinkled, etc..better bounce card, great rounded corners..all smooth front and back and can be cut to any size..

very much more pro looking.

plus I don't need all that bending forward, around, etc....

Plus I can buy foam for .27 cents a sheet and cut what you need and paint.

I've used both, the flashbender is much more versatile and professional than than a DIY card.

You could look at the large Flashbender coupled with the diffusion panel. http://www.expoimaging.com …ds=Rogue_Diffusion_Panels (external link)
I lay mine flat and stick them in the computer pocket in my bags.

It says the large is only 9x8. Just my opinion, it just doesn't look very professional and plus I don't need anything that I need to adjust and bend to get it right, and to me it just looks ugly.

Yeah, you are probably right. I guess I could do a lot of bouncing as he does if I had expensive fast lenses as he does.

If looks are more important than results, your priorities are wrong.

Just a difference in opinion. I don't need anything that bends to all sorts of positions and angles..looks awful all bent in different angles. I prefer the betterbouncecard, looks sleeker and more smooth. Just because it is a DIY don't mean it can't be better and look better.

We can agree to disagree.

I bought the new diffusion panels for the flashbenders right before leaving on vacation about two weeks ago. I can tell you people assumed I was every bit the working pro, despite being in a theme park taking pics of my kids.;) The diffusion panel turns the bounce card into a softbox, which is quite nice outside or in rooms where you can't bounce, which is the only time I use the large flashbender anyway. Otherwise I just bounce and use the small as a half snoot to flag any direct light from my subject. Personally I got tired of using homemade foam solutions. They simply aren't durable enough.

Well, if you read my post at the beginning, I wanted help in building the better bounce card studio pro.

Besides great results it is important to also look profesisonal for your clients..

We just disagree, that's all.

durable enough for me and I've been using the betterbouncecard since it came out and never had to replace them yet and they still look brand new. I love them. the black on the back hides the light from those behind you. If you like the bender and it works good I'm all glad for you. To each their own. 9x8 panel is not big enough also for the soft box effect I'm looking for.

I honestly dont care what anyone uses, but I think is pretty arrogant to call the flashbender unprofessional when you are using a lumiquest knockoff made of craft foam. The flashbender can be a bounce card, flag or snoot, or add the diffusion panel and its a softbox lite as you say. It can be folded or rolled in a bag and live to fight another day.

I didn't say it wasn't professional..I just said compared side by side with the betterbouncecard to me it doesn't look professional. It doesn't matter to me how you use it, I just don't like it, don't have any use for it and don't want something that ugly on my equipment. Plus it isn't the size I need as I have said many times. What I made was the size I need..that is what is neat about DIY..you can make exactly what you need and want. I don't want to pay all that money for something I don't need. Plus it isn't big enough for what I need.

Try this
http://www.joann.com …x18-clear/zprd_01971233a/ (external link)

Cut it a smaller than the foam and put it between the 2 foam sheets..

Just ordered a pack. Cannot find it around me,not even at my local Joann store. Found something almost like it at a hobby store but it was not stiff,, very flimsy.
