Took our MDJAK on a tour of the Rye Marshlands, promising him views of owl, deer and turkey. I managed to pull off all three.

The owls were the least willing to cooperate. High up in a tall pine, roosting in the deep shade of the trunk, they proved a bit too elusive for our 70-200's, even with Mark's 2x coupling. A tripod might have helped some. Anyway, this is the best I could come up with:

Probably better than anything I've got. That's for sure.

Now go out and get a damn 500mm for us to use, will ya. Damn it, make yourself useful. ;-)a

I can see it now...

My wife steps outside and notices a large parcel on our porch addressed to me, she also notices her vehicle missing.

This just might work!

You got 2 family members presently at home, you and your wife. You've got 3 cars in your driveway. Obviously one is superfluous. Dump it and get the lens. Stop with the excuses.

Maybe you should start a "nifty 500" program, like the "where's nifty" 50 thread. I'd volunteer to host your 500 for a visit (LOL).

All I want is just a little more than I'll ever have.
