I cant find a tutorial for stacking meteor shower images so that the meteors all appear on one image, does anyone know of a tutorial for this? I am guessing I will layer mask each shot onto one master composite but I don't know how I will carefully paint over the very fine lines created by meteor streaks without painting in parts I dont want. I suppose a talented photoshop user may have some advice on this so any tips are appreciated.

What is IFL? Anyways I kind of figured out how to do this on my own. I wound up Layer masking exactly as I described but the painting part really wasn't that bad. I tried using selection tools first and feathering but that was really annoying. I wound up painting and flipping back and forth between black and white. I did not have much experience with layer masks before this so it is a great exercise for anyone interested. This image was easy to work with because the exposures were identical throughout the entire timelapse so the backgrounds blended seamlessly. You must be sure that you do no pre editing to your photographs before making a composite. I did all field flattening and removed chromatic abberations after processing the composite. If you mess with settings before hand you just make the work a little more difficult for yourself. At the end when I mastered the paint brush I realized that you can turn up the exposure and brighten up the more faint meteors which was neat however I had blended most of my layers into one layer at this point so I could only do this process to one or two meteors. In the end I wound up with this

LOL thanks It was an odd process. I wish I had the software to do screen shots so I could do a good tutorial.

If you have Win7 then it comes with a "Snipping Tool", no matter what OS you have use the Print Scrn key just to the right of the F12 key.

Press the key, open a graphics program (i.e MS Paint or Paint.net or one of many others) and paste your screen shot, crop, and edit as desired.
