I saw in another post a lot of RAW talk, can someone explain it to me? I stumbled across it one day on my camera but had no idea what it was haha...what are the advantages of it? What is it basically? LOL

THANKS!

Del

Del, Basically shooting in RAW provides you with a colour negative which allows you far more power over the finished photo. The downside is you need to learn to use a photo editor like Photoshop or Paintshop. If that's a downside ? Depends on how much you want to get from your photos.

OH OK GREAT!
I know photoshop well, i have been using it for 5 years, my work basically threw the crappiest photoshop ever to me, a big book of tutorials and told me to read and learn LOL
So i have been upgrading each year, Now i am at photoshop 7.0, just waiting approval to get CS2 from management!!! They have been tight on money for 2005

So if that's the downside then im laughing :)

Ill give it a try this weekend, maybe do some tests on normal jpg and RAW?

Thanks guys!!

Photoshop can be a little daunting for people who are ITPhobic. You can use PS to resize your pics as well as per your previous post.

lol im not ITphobic, i dont mind computers, i have had the advantage of using them all through school too which 10 years ago wasn't possible! I'd hate to have to learn it all from the start as an older person though...ick, i'd get so frustrated!

I resize my pics all the time, if i didn't all my photo's would be 4megs each lol not exactly good to e-mail or use those, it slows my computer down way too much! But the thing with the pixels i wrote on the other post where i put all my photo's...you will find it sooner or later hahaha i just didn't get it in the properties?

Graphic Design is my other passion...wonder if there is a thread for graphic design work???
