First off, Im no birder but I learned a little bit about this little guy walking the pier today. A couple bird watchers were out looking for these birds. I guess they are pretty rare to see along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
Anyway, grabbed a few pics.

Nice set of images in typical habitat. One of my favourite waders, we get these in winter down the East coast of the UK, they breed in the northern tundra and are found in Greenland, Canada, etc, they can look very different depending on the light.
