Hi folks,

I was recently on a business trip which took me (for the first time) completely around the world. While it was quite busy for work, I did manage to take some time in each location and take some photos of these great destinations. I would like to share some with you.

First was Shanghai. Definitely a more modern-appearing city, at least in the areas around the river - called "The Bund." A great place to take a stroll and just people watch.

....also a great scene at night

After that it was on to Beijing. Quite a contrast from Shanghai in that it has more of an older feel to it. Hard to explain. I did get a nice room :D

In Beijing I took a day off to sightsee. The Great Wall was quite an unexpected treat, but very COLD (-10 C) that day. As you will see from the pics it was also very steep.

The Imperial Palace, part of the Forbidden City, was really big, vast. It is not really "furnished" inside the palace but no doubt worth a visit.

...in another recent post I caught the tribute to Chairman Mao.

After China it was on to Bangalore, India. I have a small team of Engineers there. The people are wonderful, the contrasts of the city are quite remarkable.

Some street scenes, like this guy taking a snooze from what I'm sure was a hard day driving (its always a hard day driving in Bangalore, the traffic....)

Here is the "contrast" I speak of, the hotel where I stayed. A Palace indeed!

Last but not least....London! One of my favorite cities, it was VERY crowded with Christmas shoppers this time.

Over 21,000 miles, 9 flights, the same number of security lines (did you know there are separate mens and womens lines in India?), 16 taxi rides, the underground, food such as duck heart and curried lamb shank, and of course the people made the "journey" rough but the "destinations" great.

Thanks CP. Working in an international business certainly brings an incredible amount of professional and personal enrichment. But it is very tiring. I recall the days where on a trip working 12 hrs was o big deal, but when there was no 'connectivity' such as email the day was over. Now it's a constant struggle to keep up with the home office while traveling.

The experience was great, and I was fortunate to have at least a little time to myself.
