I apologize if this has been suggested before but it appears on this particular forum that many people like photographing aircraft at airshows - myself included. I am fortunate enough to "have" to attend some shows due to my work. These shows include Sun n' Fun (Lakeland, FL), Oshkosh (WI) and Reno. I am also surmizing that these shows are well attended by other POTN members. It would be nice to have a meet sometime at these shows where we could mix on a social basis and compare tips, etc. Not quite sure how we would accomplish this but the good thing about Sun n' Fun and Oshkosh is their duration hopefully allowing plenty of opportunity during the multi-day event.

Comments/ideas/suggestions?

I will be on vacation in Orlando while the Sun 'n' Fun airshow is on. I was thinking about going to it as its not too far. The official website doesnt give too much info on the flying display. Has anyone been to previous Sun n Fun shows? If so what might be expected to fly?

Thankyou

Tim

Don't know how we would do it, but I'll be at Oshkosh at least one day, and Reno for all eight days again this year.

As for Reno, I know I'll be at the Warlock party on Wednesday night after qualifying.

Poor guy! ;)
If you know the area inside the show, easiest way might be to pick a time each day to meet at a known landmark.

Well for the Oshkosh show I will be working at a 50ft by 50 ft landmark, ie a bright green Castrol Aviator tent right outside Hanger B! Anyone is welcome to stop by the tent (and maybe even meet Michael Goulian whom we sponsor in the CAP 232 aerobatic plane). Just ask fo Andrew (or look for the 6'4" English guy!) and you will find me.

I walk by that tent every year. I usually park myself on the front spectator row in front of the classic food tent. I'll try to remember to look for you this year.
