Hey all. I'm going to be shooting team photos soon. Last year was my first year shooting for them and it went quite well. This year the team wants a package of the following prints and I was curious as to what everyone else would charge. Thanks!

115 members on the team
1-5x7 individual
1-8x10 team photo
1- set of 8 2x3 wallets
1-3 inch button
20- 11x14 team photos for sponsors

For this I'm charging $25/member. What do you think?

$25 doesn't even cover the cost of those 20 11x14s...

It appears he's charging 115 x 25 = $2,875.

Are they dividing that 1-5x7 individual, 1-8x10 team photo. 1- set of 8 2x3 wallets, and 1-3 inch button 115 ways?

I'm just spitballin' but you're probably looking at $8-900 for printing costs. You need to figure out exactly how much it will cost to get the prints and then you'll have a better idea of whether you're charging enough or not.
The 8x10s will be $2-3 each and you've got a 115 of them. Figure $1 each for the others, probably be a little less, but it's a nice, round number.

Thanks guys. Everyone on the team will get 1 of each print listed and the 20 prints of the 11x14 go to sponsors. I have my cost of printing and shipping of the prints at an actual cost of $12.70/member. The thing I find crazy is that I have looked at what some places charge for prints and it would cost over $50 per person. I'm just trying to be fair to both the client and myself....

Your costs for printing:
115-5x7 individual x $1.15= $132.25
115-8x10 team photo x $2.20= $253.00
115- set of 8 2x3 wallets x $2.20= $253.00
115-3 inch button x $1.85= $213.00
20- 11x14 team photos for sponsors x $4.40= $88.00
Minimum Total Cost For Product $940.00
Income 115 x $25= $2,875
$1,935 minus Time, overhead, etc.

5x7 = $10
8x10 = $15
8 wallets = $10
Button = $7
11x14 = $25

That would be costs. Could discount the package to the kids a touch. I do a ton of teams and dance studios and my 8x10, 5x7 and wallet package is $25. I have no problem making a profit and no one flinches at the price.

That is really close to mine minus the button, obviously. I'm sure after last year I could have charged them more, but I feel good with this. Plus I do have rather good sales from parents that want more than just what the team provides.

I live in a small town and have built a solid reputation for delivering quality prints at good prices. Not cheap but not overpriced either. But since this is my only team shoot, I just want to make sure I'm ballpark to what others are charging, but a little under. There are a lot of well off and a lot of not so well off where I am so I need to cater to both and make them affordable.

We use WHCC and BlackRiver for most everything. WHCC primarily because it ships from Texas and is here the next day (with free shipping on orders over 12 bucks) and their quality is great. The prices I posted are WHCC on everything except buttons (BlackRiver).

I use Bay Photo through my smugmug account and I'm paying close to 30% more than you... Plus my monthly went up 50% for my pro account. Since I'm going to have the next 2 weeks off, I'm going to look into other options for my website.

We still have our Smugmug account since we were grandfathered in on the price hike till next year but we already moved our main site in preparation of leaving SM completely. But main reason was because I am an idiot on trying customize the site through smugmug so we went with a different provider. Best move ever. But, We never used the ordering system on SM because it was considerably higher. I feel your pain.

I use a guy locally for most of my stuff, but I've had good experiences with WHCC also.
