excuse the watermark

I love all your pics. But the water mark is really annoying. If you move it to one of the corners, that'd be better.

Jose, here is what I think you should work on.

Sharpness - I would work on getting a faster shutter speed somehow. Not sure what camera you are using, but if you can push it to get a shutter speed of about 1/640 or 1/800 you should get sharper pictures. You may also be running into issues with the 50 f1.8 as it may have problems keeping up with the movement while tracking.

Lens choice - 50mm on the near court and 200mm on the far court are a little short. I would use your 70-200 when shooting offense and work on shooting tighter. The 50 may be good when you are directly under the basket, but otherwise it is too wide. Most shooters like 300 when shooting the far court. You want to strive to fill the frame.

Post-processing - Crop your images more tightly without cutting off limbs, although the limbs are not always necessary. The dead space above the players is certainly not necessary. I would also add some contrast and work on getting more "pop." Look at mrwilt's pics for example.

Thanks ill work on that stuff. I'm shooting with a 50d. At 500 ss I was about 3/4 of a stop underexposed.would it be to underexposed if I went to 800ss?

if you have photoshop you can bump the exposure up in post processing and (if needed) apply a little selective noise reduction with layers

A few from the game Friday night. Great rivalry game and the gym was packed.
Most all these were iso 8000, 1/640, f3.2 - 3.5 range.

I used HSS flash just to pop a little light in the shadow areas. One 580exII in each corner on the side I was photographing.

Good job Jim on the ESPN game pics.
