its mighty windy in the south east. does that count? guess not but I'm listening to it through the outdoor camera and the trees are creeking, limbs are falling and it almost sounds like jets flying over.

I think the time was 11:11am when it was going to take place. I dont know what lens to go with. If this wind and cold don't let up I wont photograph it anyway.

I hate to go to sleep on our last night but I'm kinda tired.

It's always better to die in your sleep.

Personally, I think the Mayans were as nutty as every other doomsday freak who has ever lived. Including Nostradamus and each and every one of his interpreters.

But then, one little 20km rock could settle the whole issue, couldn't it.

Mayans have nothing to do with doomsday I don't know where people come up with this crap.

Exactly, all those nutjobs gave the Mayans a bad name. Also they never disapeared their decendants are still around in Central America.

Exactly!!! The Mayans said nothing of the sort. The day was no more significant to them as Dec 31 is to us. Yeah, the calendar rolls over and a new year starts. Whoopity-do..

BTW, if anyone is deciding to liquidate their possessions before their flying saucer comes to pick them up, I am always willing to accept their L lenses and FF bodies. It's the least I can do to lessen their understandable distress.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

It's been the 21st in Australia for almost 19 hours. We're fine so far.

No way, I just barely reacquired them after last year's Rapture fiasco.

Apparently the world was going to end about every 20-50 years since the death of Christ:

(Site is a bit nutty itself, but fun list)
