Hello All,

I just got back from a mission trip in Ghana, West Africa and this picture just touched my heart. I had stepped into a school yard and the kids just mobbed me! Aparently I was the first white man some had ever seen. I think the expressions on their faces are just priceless.

I am curious as to what you think, not only of their expressions, but also as a photograph.

You are right, they are great expressions. In the photograph you come out over exposed and therefore look "pasted" into the picture. It looks like you had a wonderful time.

Good Luck

Great photo. It is a fun photo which just conveys the joy that was there. Thanks for sharing.

The photo feels flat to be honest. But the photo itself put a smile on my face, so I'll take it. :)

Just like I posted in another thread: To me the capture is more important than the technical aspects in shots like these. Job well done!

Great photo! I wish I could have been there to see it. They are precious, aren't they. Two or three kids are in focus and everything else is a little fuzzy, but who cares? It's a keeper. I think I envy the experience more than I envy the shot, to tell you the truth.

Thanks everybody for letting me share this with you.

I realize that photo quality-wise it's not the best, but to me, those expressions are so pure and compelling. I plan on printing it and displaying it in my office.

The expressions are indeed priceless. Great shot!

I think this image could be significantly improved in PhotoShop before printing. I would work with the levels adjustment and then Unsharp mask.

Up the color levels a tad help those shirts pop and turn the exposure a bit down on the white males face and I'd call it a day. Great picture though.

Hey by the way I'm a bit confused ... which one are you?

I love the feeling this image conveys. I'd be interested to see it reposted with the suggested edits.

I have edited my profile to allow members to alter my photos and repost the altered photos. If anyone has the time and software, I would love to see the phot edited as suggested in previous posts as well. I do not have such high-end software.

Thanks,

- Edd S.
