Average shots for a high school basketball game?

Just curious, whats an average...? I have been shooting about 800 +/- and wasn't sure if this was going a little overboard or not.

Using a 1D Mk3, and try to burst key moments. It has been pretty effective so far; but does take a few minutes to pull the keepers. I use aperture.

I don't do anywhere near that many in a game, and I also rarely shoot "bursts" as it usually just creates a lot of non peak action shots for me to go through vs. timing the shot. I used to do tournament shooting and producing that many images for a game would have been a nightmare to process, given that we had very little time to do it on the fly. If you don't mind going through them, though, the more the merrier. I usually am annoyed with myself if I have half that many when I come home.

I don't do bursts much either, three shots is about my max. So far this season, I've averaged about 200 shots per game. That includes coach shots, cheerleaders, game, etc. I agree with convergent, in the end it just adds up to more crap you have to go through and delete. There's no reason to take 10 shots when three will do. Plus, it helps your timing.

I shoot 150-200 a game.

I shoot about 150-200 shots a game. I don't like editing. I use selected burst.

I shoot any where from 250-400.
Depending on the teams that are playing.

150-200. Cull out lots of duplicates. End up with about 75 keepers each game.

I'm around 150-200 as well.

Last 6 game nights: 300-545 frames per night. 300 on a two game night (7th & 8th grade), higher for three game nights (Freshman, JV and Varsity). So, 150-180 average. Have been over 200 if there is a halftime event-Pom, cheer, youth exhibition.

I'm in the 200-250 range, getting better at timing my shots instead of bursts.
