Seems a bit washed out to me and my screen here is fairly dark. Good job eliminating the bg though.

The photoshop work it self is pretty good, nice and clean. How ever I'm not a huge fan of the blueish tint. The background I would of maybe left a tiny bit just for effect so I can have a bit of something in the background. The work it self though is pretty good. Photoshop is fun when you really get into it.

Thanks for the feedback, I didn't have any particular aim, just messing about. I have been using photoshop since I was about 7 though (now 17). I'm going to do another conversion with your comments in mind!

The background was cut out using channel masks, I can post some information here if you want. It's a greta technique.

Nice extraction. I'd be tempted to take it a step further and remove the arm also.

I, for one would like to know your channel mask technique.

Very good extraction. Thank goodness he has nice straight hair. I have a tough time with individuals with long wispy hair.

The stuff in the bottom right hand corner may be a slight shadow photoshop picked up while messing with the channel masking.

Good try on the background but it's pretty flat in my opinion and the arm really bothers me.

Keep trying!!!

I think the PS version is a big improvement over the original. Great job.
