I got my 6D yesterday and I actually unboxed it in the car before I shot a double header basketball tournament.I had my 7D but thought this would be a good test of the new 6D.
I didn't even have time to look at the manual but within 5 minutes I felt right at home with the controls,If you shoot Canon the controls are very familier.
I shot about 450 shots and looking at the RAW files there were VERY few OOF shots-Totally impressed!!! while it's not the speediest, the autofocus is up to the task IMHO.All shots ISO 6400 no NR.

Nice shots! Good composition and action. A few of them look a little noisier than I expected from the 6D at ISO6400. What did you use to process them?

Of course you can shoot sports with a 6D. You can shoot shorts with any DSLR. I believe most would say its just not the best DSLR for that task. I remember people using 5Dc bodies for sports when I had one... back when they first came out. While it was possible, I found it painful in comparison to other bodies in my kit so I never did it other than to just see what it was like. But if you are happy with it, that's all that matters.

6D may not have all the features of 1Ds/x models but the pics look good

pictures look great. And its good to know a 6D can do a great job at shooting sports. I really want one after I buy a 7D.

Camera looks like it's up to the challenge. As for the photos, too many arms, not enough faces.

Well it was just a test to see what it could do.No it's not going to be my go to sports camera and that's not why I bought it but so far I've been pretty happy with it.

I also got the 6D. I haven't done any sports with it yet, but for holiday parties and family portraits, the thing is a BEAST!
