I have both. If you can afford the 35, get it. There is simply no contest (unless you want something smaller and lighter, which is somewhere the 35 fails at).
The 35 is sharper wide open, which is noticeable on crop, it has rounded aperture blades, the 35's focus ring is so much nicer, and the build quality is also so much nicer. Well worth double the price.

As much as I love the 30, I can no longer recommend it aside from as a budget option!
