Hi all,
A company in Belgium have used my photgraph, it's the photo top left in link below.
http://www.traficon.com …on/news_detail.jsp?id=161 (external link)

We did agree a price a few months ago, but I forgot all about it. I just remembered and looked at the site and they have used the photo.

To get the agreed money, do I send my contact my bank sort code, and account number for a bank transfer? Is that the way to go?
Any help is appreciated.

I don't sell internationally but near enough 95% of my business is paid by Bank Transfer and my Sort Code and Account Nummber is prominent on all of my invoices.

I've never had any problems in the last 8 years,

...I've done a couple of international transactions and used paypal and the client paid by credit card. The fee's were high but it was the easiest and quickest way to do the transaction. For international bank-to-bank transactions you will need a swift code:

Best chat to your bank on how to do it.

I have done several international transactions with companies. My process is to get a purchase order from them before releasing any deliverable to them. I simply invoice them and I have always been paid. Some send a corporate check, some money orders while a couple have done paypal. I always invoice in the currency of the country of the client to make things easier for them. If you try and make things difficult for them it will only detract from the expedient payment. Do you have a paper trail indicating that they committed to using and paying for the image in question. By forgetting to followup for several months (I don't get this) you had better hope that the person that gave you this promise is still employed there.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

If you're asking what the next step is to getting paid, send them an invoice. Try to be as descriptive as possible in the invoice - date of first use, length of use, terms (upon receipt, net 30, etc), and the preferred method of payment. Also include your mailing address.

If you're asking the method of payment, I've been paid via paypal / direct wire transfer / check from international clients. They all count the same in my bank account

For future reference, you should square away payment details at the same time you negotiate the fee and usage terms. It is quite common for companies to use bank transfer to pay suppliers located in another country.
