I never use canon's provided software. I use Breeze Browser Pro. Much better.

Personally I never use zoombrowser, a cheap card reader is a much better deal

YOU could try this, brows the cd find the zoom browser folder and drag it onto your desktop then try and load it from there ,just a thought. might have read your post wrong , a card reader is the best bet for getting images onto the comp.
Rob.

Agreed. You're going to save yourself a lot of frustration and time with a $20 card reader. It's will worth it.

Ya I only use my Canon software for remote shooting and going through a fresh copied set of new photos. It can read the raw formats quicker than my current software. I transfer my photos using my internal card reader and dragging the files where I want them. If I can find better software I'll most likely give up Canon's stuff for it. So if you can't get this working, check out some other software it may pay off later on down the road for you.

Get a good card reader, I have a generic internal one I like. Use DIM from http://www.alanlight.com (external link) to download the photos to your hard drive, and it can rename them if you want. I rename in Photoshop CS2 bridge. Use CS2 or the free RawShooter Essentials to process your RAWs.
