first time I went away from Amazon to buy the 70-200 mkii and the 5dmkiii - i could have saved almost 200 USD over these two - I can send them back and reorder on Amazon but with less than 5 days to my trip and functioning HW, I would stay with what I have got.

Good news for folks looking for a new body, be it Canon or Nikon or Sony

Odd thing I noticed from the above link is that you can get a Nikon D600 body only for $1997 ($1877 after the 6% rewards) or the D600 plus a 24-85vr lens for the same price. Hmmmm?? Not sure of that lens' reputation, but they're selling for $350-385 over on FM. That gives you a net of $1500-1525 for a new D600.

any sane guy looking for a Nikon D600 with no tax from Amazon (for select states) and with 6% rewards should pick it up now.

Nikon is running a special right now. If you have Mr. Rebates you can link through them to Adorama and get the kit plus a bag, extra battery, and a 32GB memory card for no extra and get a total of 5% back plus any rewards on your credit card.

Unfortunately, all these discounts would barely cover the sales tax. I buy a lot of stuff on Amazon, but my next big ticket photographic item will likely be from B&H or Adorama.

Confirmed from Adorama, they will NOT competing with Amazon this time.

That's a great deal for a d600!
