love that green spider, nice flow to the slug too. There are some burnt out highlights in 1 & 4 especially suggesting you need to diffuse the flash some more.

Thanks Toby - I don't always carry a diffuser with me since I find it to be especially obstructive where there are lots of leaves in the undergrowth, I would inevitably scare away most of my subjects. I use it on a case by case basis depending on the subject and the likelihood of scaring it. Also, traveling in constant 100% humidity and under harsh travel conditions, most diffusers get torn apart. But I do agree and am currently playing with cross polarization as an alternative.
