Im currently using PSE 10 and I love the organizer that came with it, makes it very easy to organize and tag my pictures to reference later and Im wondering how the new PSE 11 organizer compares. From doing my research online Ive found nothing that goes into much detail on the differences between the two versions and whats affected in the organizer if upgraded. Has anyone here made the switch from PSE 10 to 11 that can hep comment on it? Thanks in advance for any info!

I'm going to make a bit of a guess here -- I've used PSE versions 5, 7, 9, and now 11. In the beginning I didn't care for the Organizer, and by the time Adobe had improved it to the point where I might have used it I was using Lightroom for file management and so had no need for the Elements Organizer.

So, I've really only had casual and occasional exposure to the organizer.

But, I will say that many, many things appear to have been improved in PSE11, and I think that is probably true with the Organizer, also. I looked through my Scott Kelby PSE11 book (which I'm in the process of studying right now) and it sure looks as if the Organizer is very capable. I know they added a mapping function (similar to LR) and it looks as if the tagging function is easier to use. There's a find duplicate files function but I don't know if that is new or not.

The Editor sure has some nice new features. The new Refine Edge feature is a big help for compositing. I think if you upgrade you'll probably like it.

Yeah the editor upgrades are really nice, Im just worried about the organizer since file management for me is such a nightmare, the organizer has really helped me out with that. Perhaps I can get in touch with adobe to find out what I can expect transferring my organizer from 10 to 11, Id be really bummed if I lost all of my tags and such.
Thanks for the reply

I love the new PSE11 it's got a lot of changes but you can upgrade your database and you won't lose anything

I did a video review here if you are interested

I know that when upgrading, PSE will look for a previous PSE catalog on disk and will ask if you want to import it. On those few occasions where I have imported images into the organizer just to test something or to run a slide show I have found that PSE sees all my Lightroom keywords and asks if I want to keep them.
