Looks like lots of bird phtogs are moving up to the 7D. Mine arrived a couple days ago. I've only had one chance to get out with it. Since I was just learning the camera and experimenting with the various AF settings, none of these will be hanging on my wall (lots of bird butts, back-lit shots, etc... I was shooting anything that moved).

I think the Pelican and the second Heron shot are very good. Well done on getting a 7D and lets see some more :)

I had the 10, 30, and 50D before going to the 7D. The learning curve is a little steeper on the 7D so be patient. Its an awesome camera. Best of luck with it!

I read the manual and now I'm more confused than I was before . But, I look forward to many hours of practice. The AF system is amazingly better than that of the T1i. In the half hour I spent at the pier getting the above shots, I got more in-focus shots than I usually get with my T1i on an all-day outing.

Just an FYI...Bought this book. Very helpful. I'm a manual reader anyway but this goes much more in depth.

Thanx for the tip, Kowenjr. Amazon reviews for the book are pretty good, for the most part.

Welcome to the club! For me , the hardest part was learning which dial/toggle controlled what. My suggestion-forget about all the custom functions for a bit, they can push you over the cliff. Good luck!
