Went out the other night because i was a touch bored and took some nightscapes over Canberra

Now normally i shoot nightscapes with a significant foreground, but when shooting a generalist 'scape i struggle with the balance between exposing for lights and exposing for the shadows. Plus, especially in a city like Canberra where there is less light pollution that you tend to get blown highlights from the lights.

Any suggestions on what to balance with these?

Takao - I will be traveling to this location (Mt Ainsley) in a few months time to take a similar image. Wondering whether you have leaned anything since your (now somewhat dated) post that you could share to assist me???
Thanks.
