I`ve read some good and interesting things about these 2 lenses but I couldn`t really see a comparison between the two here.It seems Sigma has got everything right but Samyang is a strong contender and costs at least £200 less.Although I`ve not used manual focus a lot(only for macro work) the lack of AF on Samyang doesn`t bother me. The lens will be used mostly for street/portrait photography on a FF.Which lens would be your choice?

Simply put, Sigma is the sharpest 35 out there AND with AF.

Sure Samyang isn't bad and cost less...comes down to what you want/need.

Personally, Sigma for me ;)

Sigma, because 200 quid is not worth losing AF over. MF may not be bothersome occasionally, but it with the Sigma you can use MF and AF :)

Do the Sigma. As much as I love the Samyang, the price difference for the Sigma will probably be worth it for street shooting, especially candid portraits. A lot of people don't always enjoy having their photo taken so you will be hard pressed to compose and manual focus in the little time that you have. I'm not saying it's s impossible, just more difficult.
