However, another (former) member, who's on the Pardon Fairy's **** list and will NEVER be allowed back, has made several (unsuccessful) attempts at pretending to be him.

True, and that's why he won't ever be allowed back.

I was gonna write that this is probably the longest thread about nothing. Ever.

Then I remembered the Elinchrom Users thread!

You or anybody else do NOT have both sides of the story.

Wilt is in no way qualified to make a statement such as ". The apparent reason behind his permanent ban seems to not fit the actual circumstances" because he do NOT have the full story. So please stop stirring up trouble.

And this is not really up for discussion here.

Keep this thread on subject which is the fact that TMR Design & m.shalaby have been alowed to return. If they do is entirely up to them.

This begs the obvious question: Who DOES have the whole story? You? Pekka? Someone else? If so, who?

With all due respect, this is as I see it: The Pardon Fairy did her job and Pekka made the announcement. In a discussion forum. And now that people are discussing it, and discussing posts that are still a part of these forums and not deemed inappropriate (and therefore not deleted and still part of the record), this is "stirring up trouble"? Why open this thread in the first place then, if not for discussion and comments? ???

P.S. If having both sides of the story is so illuminating, why not let us have the whole story so we can see what's what? If having only one part of the story is what is causing all these "inappropriate" questions, wouldn't giving us the whole story fix this? ???

Respectfully,
Rudi

This thread was NOT posted to start a discussion about the reasons for a particular ban. It was only posted to announce that two permanently banned members got a second chance.

Every decision staff makes is based on hard facts and information that is written and stored. We have good set of rules to which all members agree when registering. When we have found sufficient reason to do so, we ban members. If the member in question is an old member the decision is for admins to do and it is always done after careful thought. We never seek to ban, it is the last resort.

We will not discuss ban detail with other members, as I consider reasons for ban, violations and complaints history, mod discussions, server logs, reports, IP logs, registration detail, deleted posts and PM correspondence with bannee candidate and us to be our internal and private material.

There are always members who complain, rant and keep on ranting (to their pals and on PM when we ask for explanation for the violation) what they did was to be seen somehow different to everyone else and that they are a special case, not like those "others". That is something I consider an insult to those tens of thousands of other members who honor our rules and are part of the community without asking to be treated by a different criteria.

I would treat all stories by banned members about the "unfair ban" and "I did not do anything to deserve this" with great suspicion.

Bottom line: There are times we end up with no choice but to ban valuable old members. There is only one set of rules to all. Pardon Fairy was invited here to give another break for some.

So the only replies allowed are unrestrained praise of the Pardon Fairy's decision? Or are we allowed to express our disappointments (with the Pardon Fairy's decision) as well?

What I'm asking, respectfully, is this: Are we allowed to discuss the Pardon Fairy's decision? Or is it all just about heaping praise on the good old fairy? ???

What exactly is wrong with Pardon Fairy pardoning these two members?

Seriously? Arguing about a new policy just for the sake of arguing? Personally I am glad that we now have a "Pardon Fairy" here at POTN. Try to remember that it was done during a giving time of year as well so look as it as being given a second chance.

But, if you consider presenting your case out in public with the Moderators and Pekka no less, maybe I and the rest of us here at POTN can welcome you back in 12 months or so.

Just in case...............
