I am shooting OU/TX A&M next week and was wondering if an F4 600 on my 1DX would be sufficient for the lighting in that venue. Any help would be appreciated. It is a 7pm start I believe. Thanks

Lighting is great at Cowboys Stadium. If I remember correctly from last year's Cotton Bowl my settings were ISO 1600, Shutter speed 1/1000 at f2.8.

I have
2.8 800-1000 iso 1600-1000
if the game is at night its better actually
light from the big west window cuts the stadium lights IMHO
you can prob get f4 at 3200 at 500+ easily

You will be just fine with the 600 and the 1dx

It's also quite possible that since the Bowl game will be televised there may be more lights on.

I shot there for the Tech - Baylor game, set my 7D on Manual, shutter at 1/800 or 1/1000, apeture to 2.8 and set the ISO to auto, never got an ISO ran around 1250 or so. You should do just fine with the f4.

Gary
Started shooting sports in high school in 1975, after high school, took a 35 year nap from photography and picked it back up in 2012 and getting more serious with the art.
Gear - Some Canon camers and lenses.
