I just got the 15.4" macbook pro retina, i7, 512 SSD and 16 GB RAM
Expensive yes but it will last some years.
It works like a dream and Lightroom and CS6 runs smoothly.
OK size to work on but I will get the 27" new flat Apple monitor when it hits the marked.
I have a one year old imac 27" but the speed on this new MBP is just amazing.
So the kids will be happy when I give it to them after the monitor arrives

One of the limitations I ran into with my 2011 13" MBP ended up being the fact that I cannot use two independently controlled external monitors with it. If I would have known this before hand then I likely would have waited for the retina model. Either way, you should be fine.

Being an avid PS user, I cannot conceive of doing serious editing on a laptop. Show me one that has 22 of Ram.
