I thought that other forum members considering this lens might like to know this. I just ordered one to replace my 70-300 non-L, looking for better image quality, particularly at the long end.

Edited: Unfortunately, Amazon.com has raised the price to $1299. However, they just shipped my lens at the lower price. The new price is still $100 less than at Adorama.
