Great textures on that pic.
A tad darkish, but otherwise very good.

Maybe you should try in PS to darken the background. That would make the model come forward.

Classic example of Rembrandt lighting. Could use just a tad more frontal light to soften the shadows, but the shadows are right where they should be to enhance the 3-dimensionality of the facial structure.

See my Tutorial on Studio Portrail Lighting Using Two Lights, with Emphasis on Rembrandt Lighting:
http://www.zaffora.com/W9DMK/PortraitLighting.htm (external link)

I would also suggest that the subject would be better separated if the background were made lighter - not darker. It also depends on how the lights and shadows play on the background.

Very nice lighting and an amazingly sharp, 3D looking image. I also like the look of your model. Her hair color and freckles add an added quality to this image.

first thought..beautiful face and photo, composition and execution!...second thought is most shots here (mine included) are focused on a very shallow depth of field with the eyes most in focus...this photo is very encompassing in the depth of field, with great detail everywhere on the subject but a nicely disappearing back ground...wonderful shot which I am very anxious to try some tecniques from...this is a photo that is very inspiring...more posts please!

PS ; I love the dark background...adds to the mystic I see in her bravado..

I think you've done an EXCELLENT job here Stephen. :D
I see sharp, crisp detail, and great focus on Her eyes. At first glance, this image seems to be a bit on the dark side, but the more I look at it, the more I dissagree with that thought. I like it. ;)

Great colors. The makeup on her left eye (eye liner) looks a bit off. Other than that, I love the shot.
