If this one is meant to look like a picture from an old newspaper... you succeeded.
Nice capture. I am curious how the original looks like.

Too overexposed on the last one, tone it down a bit.

Seems to be a fair amount of noise too.

the shot is the way it's meant to be - noise is deliberate and exposure is the ambiance of the shot - I know not to everyone likes or taste - but the end result is exactly that ...

appreciate your opinion and comment

There is a strange banding pattern on the pics. This is quite distracting.

I think the B/W shot of the first one actually looks like it was from a newspaper.

I like the first pic quite a bit. Good, tight crop and nice feel and mood to it. Beautiful lady too.

I like the first one, it accomplishes your goal of a newspaper print/yearbook photo. The second one, it is overexposed.... I, for one, love high key photos. But when you blow out highlights like that, you lose a lot of information in the image. Everyone has their own style, but losing detail completely in some areas is never a good thing.

With that being said, she is really stunning, and I would love to see some headshots of her without any novelty effects. Just her, without noise or overexposure, because it looks like her face can definitely handle it.
