In #1, you can see that the skin is stretching under the feathers, because the back white feathers are skewing to the left.

Yours look great.
Love the moss on the first one, and I see what you mean by the difference in coat.
What were your shooting conditions?
Looks like you did a lot with very little light.

Great shots. Looks like he's watching something very closely. Another bigger bird such as a hawk, maybe?

Eduardo, It was heavy overcast with tall trees all around at 9:30 am. I thought I'd try giving them a stop of light in DPP. Is this better?
