USB 2.0 EHDD transfers faster on USB 3.0 port?

My USB 2.0 external hdd transfers usually around 17 mb/sec. When plugged into a 3.0 port it runs at 34mb/sec.

So, I guess USB devices are sometimes limited by the computer port?

Are you sure? There are burst speeds when using USB2.0 as well. Best way to to use CrystalMark test to see average speed.
I haven't noticed any differences when using a USB2 HDD to a USB3.0 port.

Yes, give CrystalMark a try and see what you get with that between the two.

Yes....in general, most USB 2.0 devices work faster on USB 3.0 connection. I have experienced this and tested this with a variety of storage devices/media.
