This is Kathryn,

She came to me in August for a boudoir/sexy shoot for her boyfriend who's currently serving in Afghanistan. I asked her back then if she'd be interested in modelling for me, and we finally got it together today. Here are a few of my favourites. Trying to get away from white backgrounds that I use with the kids, although I still have some in this shoot.

What do you think?

Great shots. The subject seems a little under exposed. I think the colours in the veil/scarf would really pop and add some interest to these photos, if the entire shot was a stop or two brighter. Good work over all!

You're not the first to say that, however, I was hoping for a more shadowy image which is why I probably have them a bit low. Will try to up them a bit and see. :)

Thanks

I see what you are going for here and I kind of like it. I would just back out some of the reds and fix the little bloodshots in her eyes and I think you'll be where you need to.

Thank you. I will have a look at the reds. :)

Liking the pics but as stated earlier they are too dark , I hope you don't mind but this is what I would have done.

Cheers

They are dark, yes. That was my intention, but I realise I should have accomplished this with better lighting rather than lack of exposure.

I will be playing again with these later tonight, if I get chance. :)

If you're set on underexposing the model, I'd still like the colors of the scarf to pop more.

Not set on underexposing...did want a darker feel in the first instance but that will be to do with different lighting, i now understand.

I'll comment on the last image, lighting is flat.

Yes, I know. I think I mentioned that if I wanted it the way I was hoping I would have to relight it.

Thanks
:)

Move the key light farther to her side and remove the fill light. You'll get the dramatic shadow that way. Distance from subject will determine how much fall off the shadow has.

Thank you. That is something I will try. Also need some mopdifiers for other lights so I can direct more. :)
