Absolutely beautiful. I did not realize the superzooms have this kind of capability (in the right hands, of course!).

That last shot made me chuckle...what a look(s)! And that *mumble* hawk, he looks almost angelic with that head tilt.
Lovely as usual all around...

Hi all,

Sorry for not getting back to this sooner. We do really appreciate all your encouraging comments. I also got some PMs asking about which cameras were used for these. Here's the list in the order posted:
1. Cardinal - SX30
2. Coopers Hawk - SX30
3. Bluejay - S100fs
4. Hummingbird - SX30
5. Northern Flicker - SX30
6. Cedar Waxwing - SX30
7. Bluebird pair - S100fs
8. Five Bluebird Fledglings - S100fs

The nature of Smugmug's Most Popular rankings tends to favor older images which have collected more image views over time, so these are mostly not our most recent efforts.

Anyone interested in Canon's newer superzoom models can see more from our latest cameras here:

Thanks again to all who commented.

I agree!

Somehow it also reminds me of those motivational posters with the large photos and the motivating captions (AND the parodies of those posters!).

Some of the best shots on this forum. Our photography club has some prints hanging at a local arts council and I was just today bragging about Your amazing shots here along with the cameras you use.

Not hard to tell why they are so popular, Kenn, as they are all very beautiful!

Wow. Your pictures are so beautiful. I want to see an Admiral so much especially if they all look like that first pic. Absolutely stunning. Don't think I've seen many nicer dslr shots of that bird than your superzoom shots!
