pool

i was at the pool hall with a friend of mine a couple of days ago. i thought the lighting accentuated the scene making it seem more personnal.
the background blur i added. thats the problem with non dslr cameras, its hard to create a background depth of field. my personal experience anyway.

what do you think?

Extra cool shot. A few weeks ago I read something that I think describes this kind of lighting: Rembrandt lighting. I may be wrong but the way his face is lighted made me think of it.

You'd never know it wasn't shot with a DSLR so good job there as well as with the PS blur.

I wonder if it would be as strong an image if it was in Black and White??

That's a great shot. I would have ended up shooting him straight on. The fact you composed him to one side is just perfect. Great lighting, mood, blah blah.
