LOL! I love it! I felt the same way until I got my 1-series. You hear/read, 1-series this, and 1-series that, blah, blah, blah. But....When you have one in your hands you say:

RTMiller, fixed ;)

Michaelmjc, thanks and hope time flies for you :D

Jim, exactly! You read about it, see all these high resolution images, but when you actually hold one while inserting the huge battery, and then watch the way the weather-sealants get sealed!!

malla, its been loved before. So i think the first owner did the conditioning for me. My next battery though, original or black diamond?

roan, ill be honest. the major reason that convinced me to go with this over the 5D was weather-resistant or water-proof or weather-proof body. I dont know which term fits the 1dMKii the best because many forums use related terminology that may be inaccurate. Water-proof is different from water-resistant. So in relation to that, wow, I see the difference between non-weather sealed lenses (like my 50 1.8 ) and weather-sealed like the 17-40 L. The little rubber ring gets compressed vertically as you twist the lens into the camera mount and then it expands over the area where the lens barrel tip meets the lens mount tip. Exceptional engineering.
ill post a more detailed 20D to 1dmkii transitional impressions article later on.

thanks everybody :D
tips and suggestions in regards to 1-d noob user are welcome.

Very cool! Much to like, I think, about these units...the one thing that does it for me is the dual media, which is rarely cited.
