Not a whole lot to go on, but I'd buy the 70200IS. If I didn't have to pay for it, the 600mm f4 IS.

Just curious what ur favorite "L" lens is and if you could only own one L, which one would it be. I am sure it will be different for everyone since we all have different shooting personalities

Easy. It would be 70-200/2.8. With or without IS.

Canon EOS 40D and 50D, some lenses with curious red stripes and other gadgets. Previously a very satisfied owner of 20D.

tough choice, thought I think I would go with the 24-70 2.8 for versatility. the 16-35 2.8 would be a close second

Depends who's paying for it.

If my broke a$$ had to finance my own lens, I'd say the 24-70mm f/2.8. The 70-200 is too long for most things and I'd get more done with the shorter zoom.

If someone else was buying, I'd say the 1200mm f/5.6. Just for braggin' rights. heh.

70-200 IS, without a question. Speed, and with a couple of TCs it'll do most of the rest of my long lens needs as well.

The 28-300 so I would have a Lot of range!:D

That being said I have never used an L so I don't even know which one I would use the most.

I'd probably have to say the 35 1.4L. I just haven't seen better IQ anywhere.
