My son got a Hotwheels Race Car Set for Christmas that he really loves... I was trying to get an interesting shot of him playing with it this afternoon... pls tell me how I did! I kinda like the motion blur of the car....

the composition isn't terrible... I like how you have a tight crop too! Next time get on eye level, however... it might be better like that instead of shooting down a little

Simply looking for some cheap gear... photography is just a small hobby of mine, just like looking and dreaming!

Maybe it is my monitor but the color seems off. Is the center of the track supposed to be red? Looks pink. Also maybe you could bounce the flash off the his right side, nasty shadow. FYI the leg fell down. My nephew as the same track. I played with it more than he did.

I double checked and the center part actually IS red! :D You had me worried for a second. The tight crop is because I only had a 70-200 with me... I need a better / smaller lens for indoor stuff! :)

I don't love the way the image is framed, but you covered that already. (Pancake lens in your future?)

I think the exposure, color and lighting are really nice. That hard light coming from camera right really adds a lot of dimension and drama to the shot. And yes, the motion blur is nice too :)

I may be picky, but is it a little over saturated ? Just looking at the contrast between the red track and the blue foot on it... also the lights on the tree don't look natural, but thats my preference.

might also be my monitor.

:D

I didn't saturate it at all actually. The lights are LED, and the decorations are just that color. I think his foot appears blue on the toe b/c he had been coloring... he seems to get the color anywhere but on the paper! I should have made him wear socks! :D
