One of my Maltese; fuzzy Bear, dances when he wants attention. I had camera in hand...

This is one of the characteristics that I love about a Maltese. I am sure that other dogs do this also but, I am mostly familiar with Maltese. Some Maltese are more adept at dancing than others. We have had ones that can keep dancing on their hind legs for minutes if the right treat is offered.

Strange, but I looked through my hundreds of Maltese images and don't have any of one dancing. I have to remedy that...

I'd love to ask my wife to sew a little pink tutu for one of our girls to wear!

I took the liberty of playing with this a little bit using PSE-10

1. removed color cast
2. cropped out the portion of the foot
3. sharpened it a bit
4. increased the brightness
5. used the clone stamp at 40% to reduce the staining around the mouth

Note: white dogs are suceptible to staining around the mouth and the eyes. I often use the clone stamp at a low density to paint over the stains with white from another areas. I can also sometimes use the dodge tool to lighten the stains...

What do you think? I'd be happy to remove this.

I like it you brightened up the picture a bit and it looks more appealing

I had done limited work in Aperture, but hadn't considered trying to remove the facial staining in post. I was at the limit of lightening the image in aperture, it was a bit underexposed to start with.
