I go to the small local tracks from time to time and they are fun to photograph, but other than that, it can get pretty boring.

I miss the old Saugus Speedway in Santa Clarita. They always had a lot of interesting types of races to keep things fun.

The place is still there but they haven't had auto racing since the 80's. Now, it's just another old boring weekend swap meet... :(

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

Just one. You must have added the second about the same time I clicked the post button.

Must be...I was adding the second one and when it finished....your post was there. Figured it was too soon for you to have seen the second shot.

I'm actually going to take some pictures tonight! Fundraiser night for a local school, improve comedy group for the main attraction. The guys are friends of mine and I always photograph any of the events I can get to.

Ugh.... Nasty Mel showed up at work today. This lube tech kid we have sure knows how to push a person's buttons.

If you don't know how to do something, admit that you don't know how to do it and ask for help.

This kid will try to fake his way through something, and when he gets caught he throws attitude around and tries to blame everyone else. Then when you try to show/tell him how to do the job properly he doesn't pay attention and still does it wrong, and when you call him out on it he blames you for <insert lame excuse here>. Then you have to stand there and direct every single move he makes and he gives you lip the whole time. And then you just want to smack him.

Ugh. The kid is still employed simply because we don't have anyone else to do the job. The boss is going on vacation in a week and I cannot do all the work by myself, so at this point we're keeping him until the boss gets back. But he still has to survive 5 days next week. And he'll be really restricted as to what work he's given.

How the heck are you supposed to deal with stupid and stubborn?

I'm assuming the "kid" is under 30? This kind of attitude is way too prevalent today. Too many seem to have some sense of entitlement they don't deserve...

I've heard that he's 27, but he acts like he's 14.

His boss should really tell him where he stands. If his boss is not doing so, he's really not doing his job either.

The plan is to wait until after the boss gets back from vacation. If he fires this kid before then I will be working alone in the shop for 8 full days. We don't have enough time left to hire another person, boss leaves at 4 pm on Thursday. If it comes down to it, I will just pull the part time guy in for as many hours as I can get him away from school.

If the kid has any sense he should have figured out by now that he's on the rocks. He's had many disciplinary 'chats' so far, but we can't figure out if he's simply not clueing in or if he really just doesn't care.

So he has been told, then he's a dolt.

Yup.

And yesterday, when he drove me past me "keep the mouth shut" limit I basically told him to do us a favour and quit.
